Camping at Disney

I was there as a kid, but c'mon can you really call camping at Disney camping at all?

That place has everything you can imagine... including heated bathrooms; nearly unlimited hot water; housekeeping services including firewood delivery....

P.S. That was the best shower I have ever taken... pressure A+; heat lasting like for an hour A+; men only (my only negative mark - I could not find "a family" restroom with a shower to save my life)...

Camping at Disney... $46 a night... each site up to 10 people... two families camping for $23 a night... where do I sign up for a lifetime membership.

We got a new tent. The vacation home is the name. 7 foot ceiling; 4 rooms; took a bit to figure out how to put it up at first... I estimate from open to up in 15 mins next time. It was down and in the bad in about 7 mins. (Not bad) I just need to get some cots for the kids... sleeping on the floor is "so not" Disney camping. We have an inflatable mattress with its own pump to fill when the pressure decreases. Wow - helping Frank move really paid off...I got that plus a great bottle of Jamaican Rum which I promptly re gifted to an alcy I work with... he still thanks me months later.

Catching up...

I was just checking all my friends blogs... It has been a month or so... some very exciting stuff!!

I loved all the back to school pics. Debra and I are gonna get on the band wagon. Our kids are back in school just a week.

I wish I had a picture of Mike's mohawk. It was a summer thing... he resisted me at first, but then did not want to lose it for back to school... (It was way cool... I always wished my parents would have done a summer "hawk" for me...)

HD TV

I saw "The Tourist" on a 70" HD TV. It was pretty annoying.

If you have a high def TV and the option to watch this movie... check it out. The whole movie was cut (meaning scene exchanges) in a very different way and it was hard to watch.

The host told me that it was because I do not have "a recent" HDTV...

Madison is 100% ok

Her procedure went well. The recovery period is 2 weeks.

Tampa -- Fort Myers -- Key West = Utopia

We had a wonderful trip in Key West, FL to celebrate Nova's 10th birthday.

The boat trip was awesome. We drove to Fort Meyers and then took the boat to Key West.

The trip highlight was snorkeling on south key reef and enjoying the island feel that old key west offers. Since we did not have a car, we made use of walking, city buses, and occasional taxi cabs to get around.

Poor Poor American Soccer...

We are truly not a world player on so many levels these days... but a nice recent example is soccer. How exactly do you allow your team to keep pressing against a world giant (Mexico) when you have a two goal lead?

The US team should have clamped down... played the game smartly and went on to the next level. Aside from the fact that Mexico has a great team; aside from the fact that the crowd boo'ed and air horned the entire opening ceremony; aside from the fact that 95% of the 90+K crowd was actually Mexican; we had a chance to stuff one down their throat and simply blew it.

The whole package is coming out of Madison. July 22nd. I am not OK with this, but the whole world seems to be ok with removing something just because they get inflamed every now and then... what I did not know was how many lymphnoids(sp?) there are in the neck... WOW!

Anyways, I lost the battle after two different opinions... I pray everything will be OK with my littlest angel. Surgery regardless of how small is risky!

Scott signs welfare drug testing bill!

Our most unpopular Gov Rick Scott signed into law a drug test requirement for welfare recipients. I applaud this action, but too bad for FL. Scott should have taken notes about what happened already in MI.

"The wasteful program created by this law subjects Floridians who are impacted by the economic downturn, as well as their families, to a humiliating search of their urine and body fluids without cause or even suspicion of drug abuse," said Howard Simon, executive director of the ACLU of Florida. "Searching the bodily fluids of those in need of assistance is a scientifically, fiscally, and constitutionally unsound policy. Today, that unsound policy is Florida law." The kids are all doing well. 10 years is Novatana; 7 years is Mike; and Madison is 5 years. In July... it will be 12 years for the Mrs and I... man time flies when you are grounded.

Boating is the new passion. If we are here on the Gulf... we may as well be on the water. "The Salt Life" and very private public beaches that are only accessible by watercraft.
